The frames in “Stripes & Frames” correspond to various epochs in European art, from Rococo and Biedermeier to Jugendstil and Art-Deco and are placed on traditional stripes. The hand-drawn frames are mere silhouettes, putting borders around spaces left to be filled, if desired, with memorabilia of any kind, like poems, photos, paintings, messages, letters, formulas or just left blank, a space to dream away. The stripes do not descent straight down, but in a witty amusing way bend around the crests and corners of the frames.

The papers are printed by preference of client: by historical block-printing method or by ecological-friendly digital printing. By offering two ways of production, we provide tailored solutions in today’s growing awareness. The digitalization of textile and wallpaper production has the potential to end a lot of waste by enabling smaller production runs based on demand. The minimum order for textile we take, for example, is 1 meter, in whatever colours. That can be also 100 meters with various designs, as long as the minimum is 1 meter, per design.

Hundreds of cyclists dressed in traditional British tweed suits descended on a Moscow park to take part in the first Tweed Run in the Russian capital. The aura of the 1930s and1940s was recreated with a twist of elegance. The Sokolniki Park became a Mecca of style and sport, with crowds of cyclists dressed to the nines. Although any bicycle was acceptable on the Tweed Run, some participants spotted classic vintage bicycles, such as the1953 American wheels. In solidarity with the retro Russian cyclists, a number of passers-by preferred to take pictures of the event on cameras fitted with film. The event was inspired by the UK’s global bicycle ride launched in London in 2009. The cycling parade drew both, adults and children, but women naturally did their best to bring back the spirit of the bygone era. Russian ladies with an eye for detail and a touch of class could be seen wearing vintage hats and retro skirts bought for the occasion at second-hand shops.
