A fascinating creature from a unique world! The Teddytaur is part horse and part Teddy Bear – combined into a mythical creature reminiscent of the centaur, a part horse, part human creature from Greek mythology.
The Bookslicer
Brian Dettmer sifts through stacks of antiquated books, boxes of dusty cassette tapes, and piles of obsolete maps to uncover the perfect source and subject for his conceptual explorations and sculptural dissections. Dettmer alters pre-existing materials by selectively removing and manipulating elements as a way to allow new interpretations and ideas to emerge. With the precision of a surgeon, Dettmer uses scalpels, tweezers, and other medical instruments to carve into the surface of his found objects to reveal hidden meanings.

Pritzker Prize Goes to Peter Zumthor
Peter Zumthor is the 33rd laureate to receive the prize, which consists of a $100,000 grant and a bronze medallion and is awarded at a different architecturally significant location each year. This year’s ceremony is to be held on May 29 in Buenos Aires.
The project most closely associated with Mr. Zumthor is the spa he completed in 1996 for the Hotel Therme in Vals, an Alpine village in Switzerland. Using slabs of quartzite that evoke stacked Roman bricks, Mr. Zumthor created a contemporary take on the baths of antiquity.

What Does Jack Nicholson Say?
Coulson Macleod delivers the power of black and white art. Distressed white text highlights the coolest of quotes by the coolest of folk. What looks to you like trashy noise is in fact a brilliant work of genius. Lou Reed’s God is rock ‘n’ roll. Coulson Macleod’s God is art. Continue reading »
