Ma’nene Ritual to Honor the Spirits of their Mummified Ancestors

Family members put back in the traditional grave the preserved body of their relative during a traditional ritual called “Manene” in Panggala, Nort Toraja, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The ritual is held every three years when family members gather to clean the graves and change the clothes of their deceased relatives to honor their spirits. Juan Cabana’s Genuine Mummified Mermaid Freaks

Cryptozoology (from Greek κρυπτός, kriptos, “hidden” + zoology; literally, “study of hidden animals”) refers to the search for animals which are considered to be legendary or otherwise nonexistent by mainstream biology. What I like most about Juan’s work is how he strives for realism. His work truly does look like something that has possibly been unearthed after years spent in decay.
