15,000 Origami Birds Were Folded To Make This Large Mural In Paris

“Lunar Cycles” is a 49 foot (15m) high and 459 foot (140m) long mural covering the side of a building in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. The installation is composed of both tangible origami birds, as well as painted ones to create depth and an element of permanence despite its temporary nature. French urban artist Mademoiselle Maurice (previously), has traveled the world adding colorful artistic installations for everyone to enjoy. After studying architecture in Lyon, she worked in Geneva and Marseille, before moving to Japan, where she was in 2011, when the devastating earthquakes hit. It was then that she decided to start composing artistic and urban works. Fascinating Street Art in France Using 30,000 Origamis

Check out these colorful street art installations composed of 30,000 origami pieces created by French artist Mademoiselle Maurice with the help of hundreds of volunteers. As part of Maurice’s participation in the 2013 ARTAQ Festival in Angers, France, they created a rainbow portrait along the banks of the Maine river and colored the pathway leading to the Montée St-Maurice Cathedral.
