Spectacular Winning Photos of The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2022
Here are the winning photos of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2022. The Overall Winner of this year’s competition is Jennifer Hadley, for her classic photograph of a lion cub losing its grip on a tree trunk entitled “Not so cat-like reflexes”. This shot also won the Creatures of the Land category.
Up against 5,000 incredible entries from over 85 countries around the world, Jennifer’s image fought off fierce competition in the closest voting ever! The image was captured in the Serengeti, Tanzania when Jennifer managed to capture that moment a young 3-month-old cub tries to descend from a tree, and it didn’t go so well. “It was probably his first time in a tree” Jennifer said of the image ‘and he decided to just go for it.’ And luckily for us, Jenn.
Overall Winner: “Not so cat-like reflexes” by Jennifer Hadley
“This 3 month old cub and his sibling were in a tree. The other lionesses were in other trees and on the ground. He wanted to get down and walked all over the branches looking for the right spot and finally just went for it. It was probably his first time in a tree and his descent didn’t go so well. He was just fine though after landing on the ground. He got up and ran off with some other cubs.” Continue reading »

Officers maintain vegetable crops in a warehouse at Sentra farm in West Java, Indonesia. Vegetables such as curly lettuce, romaine, oclave green, siiomak, kailan are cultured in a room where the light and temperature remain stable. The advantage of vertical farming, which was developed in the past year, is that it is free of pesticides with a harvest period of only 30 days with an average yield of 20-30kg a day. These slides appear to have been taken by a US Army nurse who seems to have been attached to the 97th General Army Hospital at Frankfurt, (West) Germany in 1952 and 1953. During her tour of duty she was able, like most US service personnel, to travel in her free time to various places in Europe and Algeria (and possibly other countries in North Africa). Nikon Small World is widely regarded as the leading forum for recognising the art, proficiency and photographic excellence involved in photomicrography, or the art of photography through a light microscope.
