The world’s first cat cafe opened in Taiwan in 1998. The Taiwanese cat cafe, located in Taipei, eventually became famous in Japan and began to attract many Japanese tourists as well as domestic visitors. Otaku In Osaka

The eighth annual Nipponbashi Street Festa stamped Osaka March 20, 2012 (Nipponbashi is Osaka’s geek district – much like Akihabara is for Tokyo). Cosplayers turned up in colourful outfits, dressing as characters from their favourite manga, anime, and video games. The street was closed to cars, and otaku flooded the streets, snapping pics, cosplaying, and hanging out. Continue reading »

Buraku Journey in Osaka

The Burakumin are a Japanese minority group consisting of around 3 million people in about 6,000 communities. Their ancestors were classes as outcastes during the Tokugawa period (1603-1868) due to their occupations. They are still discriminated against today.
