Bunch Of Artists Unite To Design The Interior Of This Surreal Bar And The Details Are Incredible

Q Caffe – about people. People. Dreams. Noise. Speed. Constraints. Fears. Masks. Trials. Failure. Flight. Liberation. Our world… HUMAN?

Entirely different from any other café, Q Caffe illustrates an actual story through its decor, about man and his strivings in a hierarchical and limiting society

Built in collaboration with 6th Sense Interiors and lots of other first grade artists, having steampunk and dark-fantasy influences, Q Caffe’s new design illustrates the social man’s path, presented from different perspectives, and the complexity of the oneiric, fantastic dimension that pushes past reality’s borders, amplifying and even transforming it. Each visual element has been thought through and worked on to the smallest detail, constructing this fabulous ensemble of metaphors. Continue reading »

A Neural Network Invented A Bunch Of New Paint Colors That Are Hilariously Wrong

At some point, we’ve all wondered about the incredibly strange names for paint colors. Research scientist and neural network goofball Janelle Shane took the wondering a step further. Shane decided to train a neural network to generate new paint colors, complete with appropriate names. The results are possibly the greatest work of artificial intelligence I’ve seen to date.

Writes Shane on her Tumblr, “For this experiment, I gave the neural network a list of about 7,700 Sherwin-Williams paint colors along with their RGB values. (RGB = red, green, and blue color values.) Could the neural network learn to invent new paint colors and give them attractive names?”

By the first checkpoint, the neural network has learned to produce valid RGB values – these are colors, all right, and you could technically paint your walls with them. It’s a little farther behind the curve on the names, although it does seem to be attempting a combination of the colors brown, blue, and gray.

By the second checkpoint, the neural network can properly spell green and gray. It doesn’t seem to actually know what color they are, however. Continue reading »

This Photograprer Has Captured A Bunch Of Little Caesar’s Pizza Pies In Unusual Locations And Situations Throughout LA

1

Pizza in the Wild series I and II by Los Angeles-based photographer Jonpaul Douglass (previously) were inspired by pizza graffiti which led him to photograph a bunch of Little Caesar’s pizza pies in unusual locations and situations throughout LA. Some hang off ledges, others are thrown/placed on animals, cars, street signs and the like, and still others become one with nature. If you’re feeling badly for the pizzas that appear in the shots, don’t; none were harmed in the making of the series and apparently some were even eaten! A very wise man, for sure. Naughty Dog Artists The-Last-Of-Us-ified a Bunch of Locations. Amazing.

1

If you’ve played The Last of Us, then you’ll know that the game’s world is covered in that post-apocalyptic art design that bluntly reminds you civilization has ended and nature (and death!) has taken over.

Now, Naughty Dog artists (according to Reddit) have “re-created” real world locations in The Last of Us’ art style and it’s both depressing and impressive at the same time. Tourist spots like the Eiffel Tower, and more have been redesigned to showcase overgrown greenery and eerily reminds you what these places would look like if ever the zombie (or infected) apocalypse takes over.

So, sit back and go check out each “before” and “after” image in the gallery below.

A Bunch Of Lunatics Are Surfing On Lake Superior In The Dead Of Winter

Minnesota is probably the last place you would think of surfing, but a group of diehard surfers is making it happen on Lake Superior in the freezing winter, when the waves are biggest. Photographer and Minnesota-native John Haynes captured the chilly scene last year and shared some photos here.

A Bunch of Crock: Politicians, Pundits & Minorities

unnamed

A Bunch of Crock is a reaction to the current political landscape. It is kind of a gag reflex. It is an analysis of political messages directed at the general population in an election year. It is an attempt to share what politicians truly mean when they say something. It is a collection of political posters and audio/video installations. It is a bunch of political messages. It is a bunch of crock. Project by Safwat Saleem. Continue reading »
