Founded in 1989, the Icehotel in Swedish Lapland is built from the snow up each year, using ice from the local river. The rooms are designed by international artists and this year feature spacemen and an ice queen. The hotel has 35 suites, featuring ice carvings designed by 36 different artists from 17 countries. Cat Breeders Discover New Breed of Felines That Look Like Werewolves


Tennessee-based breeders have created a new breed of cat with a touch of the supernatural. The ‘Lykoi’ has the looks of a werewolf, but apparently behaves more like a dog. Due to a genetic mutation in a domestic shorthair cat, the Lykoi has no hair around its eyes, nose, ears and muzzle, giving it a werewolfish appearance. The name ‘Lykoi’ loosely translates as ‘wolf cat’ in Greek. The breeders say these cats weren’t created by them but they are a natural mutation. Continue reading »

The Crete Senesi (Siennese clay) area, located in the Italian province of Tuscany, which lies south of Siena, consists of an untouched natural landscape of hills and woods. Some 2.5 million years ago, the Crete Senesi region is said to have been covered by the Pliocene sea and clay.
