Opening in London later this year, is this huge tunnel slide wrapped around the ArcelorMittal Orbit, a sculpture that was designed for the 2012 Olympics. The slide will allow visitors to loop their way through parts of the structure on their way to the ground. The tight corkscrew design of the tunnel slide will have visitors descending 178m (over 583 feet), from the observation level to the ground. Continue reading »
Walking among the clouds is technologically infeasible, but glass bridge is a close second. The longest walkway just opened in Shiniuzhai Geopark in Chinese province of Hunan. It’s about 984 feet / 300 meters long and 590 feet / 180 meters high. It’s both the world’s longest glass bridge.

The 365-meter long street painting titled “Rhythms of Youth” was presented to the public for the first time on a lane on the campus of the Nanjing branch of the Communication University of China(CUCN) on Wednesday. The gigantic 3D street painting, or anamorphic painting, covering an area of more than 2,600 square meters, has set two new Guinness World Records as the world’s largest and longest street painting. Its creators led by famous Chinese artist Yang Yongchun were awarded the certificate by the Guinness World Records, the global authority on record-breaking, on Tuesday at a ceremony held in the university.

Undated handout photo issued by Hybrid Air Vehicles Ltd of the world’s largest aircraft known as the HAV304 – part plane, part airship and part helicopter – which has been unveiled in the UK in all its 300ft (91m) long glory. The giant aircraft has been displayed at Cardington in Bedfordshire in the only hangar big enough to accommodate the 113ft (34m) wide and 85ft (26m) high monster. An eight-year-old coonhound from Boulder, Colorado, USA, gets the 2012 Guinness World Records title for “longest ears on a living dog.” The officials confirmed that the dog, Harbor, has ears measuring 12.25 inches in length on the left and 13.5 inches on the right. Continue reading »
