What’s Cooking, Uncle Sam?

Some of us might like to reinstate this food guide from World War II because butter has its own food group. (National Archives, Records of the Office of Government Reports)

Food. We love it, fear it, and obsess about it.

We demand that our Government ensure that it is safe, cheap, and abundant. In response, Government has been a factor in the production, regulation, research, innovation, and economics of our food supply. It has also attempted, with varying success, to change the eating habits of Americans.

From the farm to the dinner table, explore the records of the National Archives that trace the Government’s effect on what Americans eat. Continue reading »

Arjowiggins Graphic’s Environmental Benefit Statement

The video highlights the benefits of using Arjowiggins Graphic’s unique Environmental Benefit Statements (EBS), a tool that allows businesses to communicate the amount of water, carbon dioxide and energy they have saved in choosing to use recycled paper.

The statements, which are available on Arjowiggins Graphic’s website, www.recycled-papers.co.uk, can be included in corporate documents, annual reports and promotional literature to aid companies in highlighting their CSR commitments to clients in an open and transparent way.

Spitting Ink

http://vimeo.com/26003454

Spitting Ink follows eight spoken word artists as they traverse the streets, perform in situ, and talk about their motivation to write.

In the United States, a poetry subculture has grown up around a group of young, spoken-word artists. Although the work they produce is widely diverse, it tends to have a strong affinity with contemporary social reality and urban culture. The poets’ work is not aimed at a mass audience, and they perform in small clubs. Each of them has found his or her own way to focus the power of the spoken word. Spitting Ink is a portrait of some of these artists. Interviews and live performances are interspersed with images of the streets of New York — not the orderly, well-to-do neighborhoods, but their lively and sometimes dilapidated backstreet counterparts, with their graffiti-covered walls, subway trains, and bars. Spoken-word artist Mike Ladd speaks about this poetry’s origins and background (its roots in gospel and other forms) and about how it reached a turning point with the arrival of rap. Beau Sia creates poetry both to impress the girls and to rebut prejudices about his Asiatic roots; Celena Glenn only writes once a year, when her head is full to overflowing and dozens of poems suddenly stream out.

Death in Paris

Jag Diamonds is an ‪installation for the luxury brand Jag Zoeppritz.‬ This video mapping has been release for the “Nomads Days”, an artistic journey organize by the city of Paris.‬

Technic is video mapping on paper shapes. It plays with minimalist graphic design and a very colorful range.‬ Purpose was to create a scene with geometric shapes having a lot of facets, where graphics and colors can wonder between them, giving life to a whole.‬

What is Inspiration?

Inspiration is something individual. What inspires us, doesn’t necessarily inspire you. With that in mind, a good buddy of mine went out on a quest to engage the citizens of Copenhagen – and to get their opinion on the matter. He made a short movie about it. “What is Inspiration?”

F5 2011 RE:PLAY Film Festival. Inductance.

“Happy” was the theme we were given by the organizers for this year’s F5 Re:Play Fest, held in April in NYC, to create this edition’s pieces, probably the hardest thing to convey in any artistic expression. After a good deal of introspection, and teaming up with awesome motion graphics artist Gerardo del Hierro, we decided that happy wasn’t happy for Physalia unless pliers, microchips and a bit of soldering were involved, and with this idea we resolved to create the happiest machine Physalia has built to date.

ECHOGRAPHY OF CHANGE – LADY GAGA and JULIE ANDREWS

The artist Saul Zanolari presents on the website www.saulzanolari.com his brand new portrait “Echography of Change” before the 2011′ scheduled shows in NYC and Rome.

The subjects of this artworks are Lady Gaga and Julie Andrews. The artist plays on the oximoron between tradition and transgression represented by these two icons. This portrait has a Disney background but on the lower side the reading key becomes surgical and medical with an echography of a new Gaga’s creature. This artwork is full of hidden meanings, details and symbols. This is a new evolving step in the artistic growth of Saul Zanolari.

The original artwork is 79’x70′ (200×180 cm), digital painting and acrylic on canvas. Soon available a 100 limited edition print on paper 20’x18′ (50×45 cm) on http://www.wollipeye.com.
