From playable ping pong tables made from upside down cars, and aquariums built from telephone booths, Bufalino has a knack for turning the ordinary into the absurd. Preserved Pizza Art Is The Best Form Of Art You Never Knew You Needed

1

This are the Forever Pizza slices made by artist Steph Mantis. They’re pieces of pepperoni pizza preserved forever in clear lucite. Unfortunately, this is not a “break in case of emergency” situation, there is no removing the pizza for consumption. I feel like that’s kind of a waste of pizza. And by kind of I mean that is absolutely a waste of pizza. I have friends that would fight you if they found out you were wasting pizza. Back me up, guys. “Gnarly!” “Cowabunga!” Get it? Because my friends are the Ninja Turtles. That was the joke. Continue reading »

Meet Mason Wartman. In 2013, Wartman left his job on Wall Street to open up Rosa’s Fresh Pizza, a shop that sells slices of pizza for only $1 (tax included). The concept is popular in New York City and Wartman wanted to bring the idea to his home town of Philadelphia. Pizza in the Wild series I and II by Los Angeles-based photographer Jonpaul Douglass (previously) were inspired by pizza graffiti which led him to photograph a bunch of Little Caesar’s pizza pies in unusual locations and situations throughout LA. Some hang off ledges, others are thrown/placed on animals, cars, street signs and the like, and still others become one with nature. If you’re feeling badly for the pizzas that appear in the shots, don’t; none were harmed in the making of the series and apparently some were even eaten! A very wise man, for sure. 1

Given that they can barely handle making the thing they’re named after, it seems a little presumptuous for Pizza Hut to sell branded clothing … but they’re doing it anyway. Not only that, they’re calling the collection Hut Swag, so you can’t even talk about it without sounding like a dudebro idiot. Continue reading »
