Spectacular Winning Photos From the 2022 Dog Photography Awards
The Dog Photography Awards, now in its second year, continues to showcase the talents of pet photographers from around the world. This prestigious competition highlights the artistry and skill involved in capturing the essence of our beloved canine companions. From dynamic action shots to serene portraits, the winning photographs are a testament to the beauty and diversity of dogs.
Founded by esteemed dog photographers Audrey Bellot and Claudio Piccoli, the awards invite both professional and amateur photographers to submit their work in four distinct categories: Action, Portrait & Landscape, Studio, and Dogs & People. After a rigorous selection process, the pool of finalists was narrowed down to the top three photographs in each category, showcasing the very best in dog photography. The Dog Photography Awards serves as a platform to celebrate the bond between humans and their furry friends, and the photographers who capture it.

‘Our son has two brothers who are over 20 years older than him and have moved out of the house. Being home with no siblings to play with often has him getting into mischief with our two dogs, Marius and Sasha. Their interactions demonstrate the same sibling interactions as humans: playing, tattling, fighting and snuggling. A selection of the winning entries and contenders for Trail magazine’s annual photography competition, now in its ninth year.
The winning entry by Anglesey bookkeeper Kat Lawman is an image shot above the clouds at the top of Garnedd Ugain in Eryri (Snowdonia), that shows Jupiter, Saturn and Venus aligning under the watchful gaze of a wild camper. Kat, who also spends her time as a mountain leader and took up photography as a hobby three years ago, said: ‘It was such a truly earth-moving moment I was reduced to tears. The mountains here in Snowdonia are my life, and my escape … This night in December I managed to get the whole Snowdon massif all to myself, there wasn’t another single person around and this photo will always be the most special one to me’. Spectacular Winning Photos of The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2022
Here are the winning photos of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2022. The Overall Winner of this year’s competition is Jennifer Hadley, for her classic photograph of a lion cub losing its grip on a tree trunk entitled “Not so cat-like reflexes”. This shot also won the Creatures of the Land category.
Up against 5,000 incredible entries from over 85 countries around the world, Jennifer’s image fought off fierce competition in the closest voting ever! The image was captured in the Serengeti, Tanzania when Jennifer managed to capture that moment a young 3-month-old cub tries to descend from a tree, and it didn’t go so well. “It was probably his first time in a tree” Jennifer said of the image ‘and he decided to just go for it.’ And luckily for us, Jenn.

“This 3 month old cub and his sibling were in a tree. The other lionesses were in other trees and on the ground. He wanted to get down and walked all over the branches looking for the right spot and finally just went for it. It was probably his first time in a tree and his descent didn’t go so well. Vegetables such as curly lettuce, romaine, oclave green, siiomak, kailan are cultured in a room where the light and temperature remain stable. The advantage of vertical farming, which was developed in the past year, is that it is free of pesticides with a harvest period of only 30 days with an average yield of 20-30kg a day. The winners of the Natural History Museum’s prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Karine Aigner’s remarkable image of a buzzing ball of cactus bees spinning over the hot sand on a Texas ranch won the Grand Title award. ‘Wings-whirring, incoming males home in on the ball of buzzing bees that is rolling straight into the picture. The sense of movement and intensity is shown at bee-level magnification and transforms what are little cactus bees into big competitors for a single female,’ said chair of the jury, Rosamund Kidman Cox.
New life for the tohorā by Richard Robinson, New Zealand | Winner, oceans: the bigger picture
A hopeful moment for a population of whales that has survived against all odds. Hindered by poor visibility, Robinson used a polecam to photograph the whales gradually moving towards his boat. Pushing his camera to its limits, he was relieved to find the image pin-sharp and the moment of copulation crystallised in time. Known by the Māori as tohorā, the New Zealand population was hunted to near extinction in the 1800s, so every new calf offers new hope. Spectacular Winning Images of The Ocean Photographer of the Year 2022
The Ocean Photographer of the Year is a celebration of our beautiful blue planet, as well as a platform to highlight the many plights it is facing.
Ocean photographers of all disciplines and experience levels – amateurs and professionals alike – are invited to submit their most impactful imagery to be judged by a panel of some of the world’s leading ocean photographers, including International Photography Hall of Fame inductee Paul Nicklen, founder of the International League of Conservation Photographers, Cristina Mittermeier, and Emmy Award-winning cinematographer Shawn Heinrichs.
A total of nine categories will be judged, with the overall winner crowned the Ocean Photographer of the Year in September this year.

Spectacular Winning Photos Of the 2022 Siena International Photo Awards
Here are the winning photos of the 2022 Siena International Photo Awards. Greek photographer Konstantinos Tsakalidis with “Woman from Evia” is the overall winner of this year. The shot captures the desperation of Kritsiopi Panayiota, an 81-year-old woman, as the flames are approaching her home during the serious forest fires that hit the country in summer 2021 and caused extensive environmental damage.
The image, selected from tens of thousands of images sent by photographers from 140 countries, will be on display in Siena from October 1st to November 20th, along with the winning photos of the 12 categories of the SIPA 2022, the Creative Photo Awards, Drone Photo Awards and the solo exhibitions of Danish Siddiqui (Indian photographer killed on 16 July 2021 while documenting the combat between Afghan troops and the Taliban), as well as exhibitions featuring the work of Ami Vitale, Dan Winters and Peter Mather.

Kritsiopi Panayiota, 81-years-old, reacts as a wildfire approaches her house. Amid the hottest and most long-lasting heatwave in the last 30 years, with temperatures reaching 47°C, hundreds of forest fires broke out across the country, severely hitting Greece’s second largest island. Thousands of residents and tourists were evacuated by boat. The fire, which raged uncontrollably for a week in the tinder-dry pine forests, destroyed more than 50,000 hectares of forest area and agricultural land, burned dozens of houses, and killed many animals.
