Photo of the Day: Seal in the Bering Sea
NOAA today released this 2008 photo of an adult male ribbon seal in the Bering Sea. Scientists from Russia and the United States have announced that they will use high resolution photography and thermal sensors in an ambitious project to count ice seals in the Bering Sea, which the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has recommended for listing as a threatened species due to climate warming.
