China’s Sex Toy Industry Booms

A Chinese plastic toy manufacturing company has seen unprecedented growth in the past one year, thanks to the booming sex toy industry of the country. The Ningbo Yamei plastic toy factory, on the outskirts of Fenghua, Zhejiang province, started producing sex dolls three years ago and now owns a total of 13 types of dolls, according to the company. The average price of a sex doll is $16 and the company sold more than 50,000 adult sex dolls in 2011. The company said that about 15 percent of the total dolls sold were exported to Japan, Korea and Turkey, Reuters reports.
