Baby pygmy elephant saved in Borneo
A baby pygmy elephant was rescued from a ‘deep moat’ in a plantation located in Lahad Datu district which is east of Sabah on the island of Borneo. Workers from the Sabah Wildlife Department’s Wildlife Rescue Unit were able to coax the stricken elephant back onto dry land where it appeared sunburned but otherwise none the worse for wear. via Hungeree.

Annie Leibovitz’s Pilgrimage exhibition
Photographer Annie Leibovitz welcomed members of the media at the preview of her ‘Annie Leibovitz: Pilgrimage’ show at the Smithsonian’s Museum of American Art in Washington, DC, on January 24, 2012. For the new project, Leibovitz and her children took a road trip across the country where photographs were snapped at locations including Yosemite Valley, Elvis Presley’s home, Niagara Falls, author Louisa May Alcott’s home, Gettysburg, and more. Leibovitz also traveled abroad for some of the photos in the exhibition including Sigmund Freud’s final home in London.
