Plexus Series by Gabriel Dawe
Texas-based artist Gabriel Dawe uses thread – the basis of clothing – to create architectural installations.
‘The Plexus series stems from an exploration between the overlap between fashion and architecture,’ Dawe says, adding that both disciplines work to protect the human body. ‘I’m changing the scale in which that material is normally used, producing a structure that no longer shelters the physical body; but that protective quality goes through an alchemical transformation resulting in an installation that shelters the viewer in a metaphorical way.’
