Photographer Captures Stunning Portraits Of Her Cat Through The Seasons

Photographer Magdalena Grześkowiak continues to photograph her beautiful pet feline ‘Kate’ through the seasons. She uploads images of ‘Kate’ basking next to the fireplace during winter, flaunting a stunning floral head wreath during spring, enjoying the outdoors through summer and frolicking in autumn leaves on Instagram account ‘cat_effect’.

I love the elusiveness of the places like this. You can go there, enjoy the beautiful surroundings, take a photo and make plans to get back the next day. But when you return it turns out that it's all gone, and all you have are the memories.

Kate has a lot of places to hide when she's at home, in Poznan. But everytime we hit the road she's always looking for a spot that's perfect for a nap. For months I was looking for something minimalistic that fits into my esthetic. It turned out that there's a girl in my hometown who makes beautiful cardboard cat scratchers @misspaper_yolamonola When I saw a catroom that looks like giant matchbox I felt in love with the idea! She was the sweetest and made a second prototype just for us. If everything goes well soon you'll be able to buy one for your cat. We don't always have time for a proper adventure. But when we're in Drawno there's an option to go and have lunch by the river. Since it's hot in Poland this time of year we always take a shelter for Kate. We brought the pancakes in the picnic basket and later it was a place for Kate to have her afternoon nap??

It's funny how the things you write me on @Instagram become a part of my life. Yesterday we talked about the sunshine, @kayqy and @jdubs9109 mentioned that cats are solar powered. I can't stop thinking about Kate this way ever since. I'm thinking about putting all these words together and creating my very own Instagram vocabulary, for cat lovers of course.

Walking a cat is nothing like waking a dog. You have to be ready to be one-upped. Kate loves waking on some narrow, elevated things like rails or banisters.

The thing with the photo setting is that even if it looks good from the human perspective it doesn't have to work for a cat. On the other hand, Kate's so small that I can take a great shoot in the most ordinary surroundings—the perspective changes everything. And so, when we went on the field all covered up with yellow flowers she was unable to see how gorgeous it was.
