John Ching’s Tropical Chimeras
Los Angeles-based artist John Ching grew up in Hawaii and loves David Attenborough’s nature documentaries. He jokes that these are the two main things that shaped him as a person. He also claims that his chimerical creations are not so surreal. He simply sketches his childhood impressions of the bright colors, animals, and ocean of Hawaii.
