Photographer and Her Friends Recreated Botticelli’s “Birth Of Venus” Underwater

Sandro Botticelli’s iconic “The Birth of Venus,” a renowned symbol of Renaissance art, has been reimagined underwater by a team of women-owned small business creatives.

Inspired by the painting, Haley Smith of Crescent Creepers envisioned this project and, alongside her husband Mike, constructed a large metal frame for the shell. They collaborated with Kimber Greenwood of Water Bear Photography, known for her ethereal underwater portraits, who created a dreamy backdrop. Florist Ashley Rodriguez of Garden and Grace Florals designed the floral arrangements using local Florida stems, while Talia from Petunias Floral crafted a bespoke floral headpiece and wearable floral art. Together, these enthusiasts created a whimsical underwater tribute to Venus, celebrating the beauty of water and spring.
