Stunning Traditional Tempera Paintings By Ukrainian Artist Christina Tyzhuk

Christina Tyzhuk is a traditional artist and illustrator based in Uzhhorod, Ukraine. A formally trained fine artist, she graduated with honors from the Adalbert Erdely College of Arts in 2022 and recently completed her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts at the Transcarpathian Academy of Arts in 2024.

Tyzhuk primarily works with traditional media, specializing in tempera painting and ink. Her visual style is characterized by extreme precision, smooth, flowing lines, vibrant color palettes, and a masterful use of light and shadow. Her subject matter draws heavy inspiration from nature, animals (such as peacocks and beetles), folklore, and mythology, often exploring celestial and mystical concepts like the “Sun & Moon”. Her illustrations possess a highly graphic, almost tattoo-like or stained-glass quality, blending traditional Ukrainian fine art techniques with striking contemporary illustration aesthetics.
