As part of the Vilnius Street Art Festival in Lithuania, artist Liudas Parulskis executed an ingenious project that made the city’s trolleybuses disappear. This Wall Clock Changes Shape When You Walk Around It
Inspired by motion capture techniques used in movies such as Lord Of The Rings and Avatar, designer J.P. Meulendijks has created a wall clock for Plankton, that appears to change shape when looked at from different angles. When you have a closer look, you can see that the numbers on the clock face area made up of little white balls that ‘float’ at different heights. When you move around the clock, for example side to side, the numbers dissolve and transform into different shapes resulting in an optical illusion, and making the clock appear more as a piece of art than a device to tell time.
