Spectacular Winning Images Of The 2022 Travel Photographer Of The Year Awards
The results of the annual Travel Photographer of the Year competition have been announced, with one of the last remaining Northern White rhinos in the world being the subject of the top prize-winning snapshot. Out of the 20,000 entries received, Matjaz Krivic’s photographs captured the judges’ attention, as he conveyed the poignant story of these animals trying to survive and revive their species from the brink of extinction.
Krivic, a documentary photographer with more than 25 years of experience, has been traveling the world and capturing various stories of people and places. Currently, he is focused on highlighting environmental issues and advocating for a better future. This is not the first time Krivic has participated in the competition; according to Travel Photographer of the Year, he has submitted entries every year since the contest’s inception in 2003. The judges of the competition praised his work, stating that he portrayed Kenya’s sad story beautifully and sensitively, with images that are both tender and intimate.

“Najin 33 one of the last two Northern White rhinos left in the world resting under a hot afternoon sun with her friend and caretaker Zachary Mutai in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The northern white rhino is all but extinct. The two last males died several years ago. The two females are still with us, but too feeble to bear babies. In an Italian lab, their eggs are now artificially fertilized by sperm from the late males, and kept at minus 196 celsius, in hopes that surrogate rhinos from another sub species can carry the northern white back from the brink.” Continue reading »
Spectacular Winning Images of The National Geographic Traveller Photography Awards 2023
National Geographic Traveller has revealed the winners of its 11th annual photography competition, celebrating the best in travel photography across categories like wildlife, landscape, food, people, and urban. The judging panel sifted through thousands of entries to come up with a shortlist of 18 finalists for each category, and from there, the final seven winners were selected.
Though only open to UK and Irish participants, the winning images are said to reflect some of the best photography from around the world, showcasing a mix of drama, intimacy, and warmth that capture unique perspectives of travel.
The grand prize this year went to Renato Granieri, whose winning photograph was an inspiring image of two newly qualified eco-guards working at the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary in Sierra Leone, submitted in the people category and praised as a “firm favourite” among the judges.

Stunning Winning Photos Of The 2022 Underwater Photographer Of The Year Competition
The 2022 Underwater Photographer of the Year Competition had over $100,000 in prizes and revealed stunning winning photos. Nirupam Nigam, the Editor-in-Chief of the Underwater Photography Guide, spoke about the competition saying, “It is clear from this year’s winning images that our community of underwater photographers has dived into a new and exciting post-pandemic era. An unprecedented caliber of photos was ushered in by the lifting of travel restrictions – including our best in show image featuring another teachable moment from an octopus.”
The photo, taken by Kat Zhou in Palm Beach, Florida, depicts the bittersweet final days between a mother octopus and her young before dying of old age.

Hyena highway by Sam Rowley, UK. Spotted hyenas are intelligent and opportunistic animals. On the outskirts of cities such as Harar in Ethiopia, they take advantage of what humans leave behind like bones and rotting meat. In so doing, the hyenas keep disease at bay and the locals tolerate them, even leaving out butcher’s scraps.To capture these hyenas from the family group known as the Highway Clan, Sam set up a remote camera by a roadkill carcass. ‘Our son has two brothers who are over 20 years older than him and have moved out of the house. Being home with no siblings to play with often has him getting into mischief with our two dogs, Marius and Sasha. Their interactions demonstrate the same sibling interactions as humans: playing, tattling, fighting and snuggling. A selection of the winning entries and contenders for Trail magazine’s annual photography competition, now in its ninth year.
The winning entry by Anglesey bookkeeper Kat Lawman is an image shot above the clouds at the top of Garnedd Ugain in Eryri (Snowdonia), that shows Jupiter, Saturn and Venus aligning under the watchful gaze of a wild camper. Kat, who also spends her time as a mountain leader and took up photography as a hobby three years ago, said: ‘It was such a truly earth-moving moment I was reduced to tears. The mountains here in Snowdonia are my life, and my escape … This night in December I managed to get the whole Snowdon massif all to myself, there wasn’t another single person around and this photo will always be the most special one to me’. Spectacular Winning Photos of The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2022
Here are the winning photos of the Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards 2022. The Overall Winner of this year’s competition is Jennifer Hadley, for her classic photograph of a lion cub losing its grip on a tree trunk entitled “Not so cat-like reflexes”. This shot also won the Creatures of the Land category.
Up against 5,000 incredible entries from over 85 countries around the world, Jennifer’s image fought off fierce competition in the closest voting ever! The image was captured in the Serengeti, Tanzania when Jennifer managed to capture that moment a young 3-month-old cub tries to descend from a tree, and it didn’t go so well. “It was probably his first time in a tree” Jennifer said of the image ‘and he decided to just go for it.’ And luckily for us, Jenn.

“This 3 month old cub and his sibling were in a tree. The other lionesses were in other trees and on the ground. He wanted to get down and walked all over the branches looking for the right spot and finally just went for it. It was probably his first time in a tree and his descent didn’t go so well. Officers maintain vegetable crops in a warehouse at Sentra farm in West Java, Indonesia. Vegetables such as curly lettuce, romaine, oclave green, siiomak, kailan are cultured in a room where the light and temperature remain stable. The advantage of vertical farming, which was developed in the past year, is that it is free of pesticides with a harvest period of only 30 days with an average yield of 20-30kg a day.
