Stunning images reveal the vulnerable beauty of abandoned cars that have been left to rust over the years. The collection of spectacular images show how a Volkswagen Beetle, Citroën C2 and even a Ferrari have been taken over by nature and piles of rubble. In other shots, a Mercedes Benz is overgrown with ivy and an old-fashioned BMW has been left in a garage with a collapsing roof and debris on the floor. A Ford vehicle has also been forgotten in the woods and one car even appears to have a tree growing from it. The haunting images were taken by Belgian security guard, Kenneth Provost at various locations across Germany and Belgium. Continue reading »

Burdeny began the series SALT: Fields, Plottings and Extracts in 2015, using aerial photography to explore some of the world’s most vibrant salterns in Utah, Mexico, and Australia. Vadim Stein was born in Kiev (Ukraine) in 1967, where he got an education in the sphere of sculpture and restoration. “At this recognisable landmark in front of the Clifton suspension bridge I found a secluded spot where teenagers like to hang out and local foxes would come to look for leftovers. One night, I was setting up my camera in the early evening and a fox came out of the shadows. It came straight over, looked up at me, then proceeded to try and pinch something from my open camera bag. After that, it walked up this small ridge and I saw the picture I wanted to capture. China-born artist Zhao Huasen created this fun collection of images where bicyclists float along city streets, pedaling and steering invisible bikes. For the project, entitled ‘Floating’, the artist captured hundreds of cyclists going about their every day lives and he then digitally removed the bicycles from the images. The bicycle seats, position of the riders, and the shadows on the streets remain intact, allowing viewers to easily access the story of the picture. Born in Marseilles in 1716, Gautier began his career as a painter before moving onto printmaking where he developed an interest in the techniques of color printmaking which were then being pioneered by Jacob Christoph Le Blon (1667-1741).
