NASA Just Released Some Absolutely Spectacular New Photos Of Jupiter

The stunning, enhanced-color image above, featured in a news release by NASA, is based on a photo of Jupiter’s south pole captured by the Juno spacecraft on December 11th, 2016. Juno’s citizen science camera has been snapping glorious images of the gas giant ever since it arrived in orbit around Jupiter last July. After a 16-year search, the pioneering photographer behind a mysterious collection of images that have been hailed as ‘Spain’s response to the work of New York’s Vivian Maier’ is being celebrated in Barcelona.
Tom Sponheim, from Seattle, visited Els Encants market during his trip to Barcelona in the summer of 2001. Whilst browsing the stalls, he stumbled across a box of brown envelopes containing a series of negatives. Parisa Damandan (born 1967) is an Iranian photographer and art historian. She received a degree in photography from the University of Tehran. She is the author of Portrait photographs from Isfahan: Faces in transition, 1920-1950, a book illustrating the history of Isfahan in the early 20th century with portrait photographs, which she collected over a period of ten years; the photographs were hard to find because many photo archives in Isfahan had been burned after the enactment of a 1979 law forbidding depictions of unveiled women.

Majestic, charming and at times, aggressive; horses are the subject of Andrius Burba’s newest project ‘Under-Horse’. The Lithuanian photographer and his team described it as a back-breaking process. It involved digging a hole of three meters into the ground, placing a huge pane of ultra-strong glass on top of the camera and setting up heavy equipment surrounding the makeshift studio.
