Henry’s Concepts: Adorable Photo Series Directed Entirely by a Two-Year-Old
In order to make a little bit of money on the side, Toronto-based portrait and wedding photographer Alex Neary does some nannying, but she probably never expected that her nannying gig would be her ticket to viral photography success.
You see, for the last year and a half, she’s been looking after a ridiculously cute and creative toddler named Henry, who one day decided that he wanted to turn the camera around and photograph Alex for a change. Thus was born the adorable photo series Henry’s Concepts.
It’s really that simple, but the photos that have come out of the project — many of them forcing Neary into funny, contorted, and probably less-than-comfortable positions — have attracted the attention of everyone.

Gun Series Project by Toronto-based Photographers
“Point Blank” is an ongoing series of handguns from around the world by Toronto-based photographer Peter Andrew, Simon Duffy and Derek Blais. Captured in extreme detail, the large-scale “portraits” are undeniably in-your-face, lending an intensity you can’t turn away from. Andrew says they are meant to be studied like you would a face, the detail and imperfections found within building a story that make us wonder where they’ve been or why and how they’ve been used. The trio has photographed seven handguns thus far and continue to build the collection.

Bram Stoker’s Chair Series by Sam Taylor-Wood
The last series of Sam Taylor-Wood’s that I have looked into is called Bram Stoker’s Chair. This series links with her Suspended series in that they both show the artist seemingly poised in mid-air. These photos have the added element of the chair being there for her to balance on, giving her more of a physical connection with her surroundings. Continue reading »
Plexus Series by Gabriel Dawe
Texas-based artist Gabriel Dawe uses thread – the basis of clothing – to create architectural installations.
‘The Plexus series stems from an exploration between the overlap between fashion and architecture,’ Dawe says, adding that both disciplines work to protect the human body. ‘I’m changing the scale in which that material is normally used, producing a structure that no longer shelters the physical body; but that protective quality goes through an alchemical transformation resulting in an installation that shelters the viewer in a metaphorical way.’ Continue reading »

Regarded as an eyesore by some, transmission towers have now become a staple of cascading highway horizons. These steel modern day obelisks scattered amongst our natural landscape have become symbols of transmission and connection. From city to city these queues of tapered giants tower above us with outstretched arms, carrying the lifeblood of our modern cityscapes. The steel lattice design is the contrast of strength and visual airiness. Continue reading »
