Enter The Dreamy World Of Taj Francis’s Stylish Illustrations

Caribbean heat seems to melt the skin of every subject Jamaican illustrator Taj Francis draws. The Edna Manley College of Visual and Performing Arts graduate’s imagination coats models and musicians with marbled paint and all the tropical colors of a dancehall party.

Palm fronds, flowers, microphones, and other icons bubble up through the liquid veneer to offer more information about Francis’ characters.

“I intend to create worlds from my art,” he tells the Jamaica Gleaner in an interview. “Something that kids who were like me can get inspired by, and help create a cycle of growth and creativity.”
