Welders In China Cover Up Despite Summer Heat

Welder Xie Wentao wears a protective mask and gloves in Jinan, East China’s Shandong province. The 42-year-old and his colleagues build reinforcement cages, part of a building’s foundation.

Each reinforcement cage is 6 meters long and has over 1000 points welded together. It takes about 10 seconds to weld each point at a temperature of 2000 C and he can complete over 10 cages each day.
