Maxim Goudin Blends 3D Design, Science Fiction, and Symbolic Storytelling Into Worlds That Feel Like Forgotten Dreams

Maxim Goudin is a Ukrainian-born, Los Angeles-based digital artist and art director, originally from Yalta in Crimea, who has worked at The Mill’s Los Angeles studio and built a career as a multidisciplinary 3D imagery specialist.

Goudin describes surrealism, alongside abstract art broadly, as central to his creative identity, explaining that art for him is “primarily images, not related to reality, symbols which conceal meaning” — he’s drawn to unexpected juxtapositions and non sequiturs, believing the farther an image strays from reality, the more real it becomes to him personally. Rather than trying to reproduce visible reality or even a convincing illusion of a non-existing one, he actively seeks alternative, more interesting ways of conveying visual experience.

His technical range spans art direction, 3D concept work, interactive design, style frames, and branding, with a portfolio that touches fashion, science fiction, and commercial marketing.
