Painted Donkeys Arrive to St. Paul’s Cathedral
Twenty five life-size donkeys have been given pride of place in St Paul’s Cathedral as part of an interfaith exhibition. They’ve been painted by Egyptian and Western artists, to show solidarity for the people of Egypt. All 25 donkeys have been transported from Cairo for the Caravan exhibition. Each artist, whether Muslim or Christian, was asked to decorate the fibreglass donkey, created by noted Egyptian artist Reda Abdel Rahman. The exhibition runs until 23 September, after which they will be auctioned at Sotheby’s, with all proceeds going to charities in Egypt. (Peter Macdiarmid/Getty Images) Continue reading »
Designer Gregory Kloehn Turns a Dumpster into a Cozy Home in NYC
A California designer has turned a $2,000 dumpster into a fully functional home, complete with a bathroom, bed, kitchen and sun deck. Gregory Kloehn converted the dumpster in Brooklyn off of a hunch, and now he uses it whenever he stays in New York.
Kloehn added wheels to the bottom of the dumpster so it could be more easily transported and carved a custom door on the side for easy entry and exit. For drinking water, he installed a six-gallon water tank on the roof. The same water is funneled into the tiny toilet when he needs to use the bathroom. The water is also hooked up to an outdoor shower.
The red-and-black-colored interior is insulated with padding and features a small seating area. But sleeping appears uncomfortable. He appears to only barely fit inside when he lies down. The small kitchen takes up one corner of the dumpster and features a microwave and mini stove. Both run on electricity. Photos: AP Photo/John Minchillo. Continue reading »

ROX are the perfect way to bring your beverage to its ideal drinking temperature and keep it there without watering down your drink. ROX are made from 100% Soapstone, a non-porous, odorless, and inert stone that will retain a neutral taste in your freezer, unlike ice cubes. Soapstone has a high thermal mass, giving it the natural ability to retain its temperature for extended periods of time. For Centuries, people have been using soapstone to cook food and keep warm. Now we’re using these stones to keep cool. As Bob Dylan would say, “Times they are a changin”.

Dopludo Collective
Dopludό Collective was found in St. Petersburg in 2006. Word “Dopludό” comes from a phonetic transcription of french words “deux plus deux”, which is “two plus two” in english. At the heart of the name of a creative trio lays the absurd mathematical formula “2+2=5”, which has been proved several times and being a potential key to reconsider all mathematics from the beginning.
