A group of artists have created a new 49,000-square-foot exhibit of 300 miniature scenes of landmarks and towns from 50 countries around the world. Called Gulliver’s Gate, the exhibit features everything from a tiny replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa to one of the Beatles strutting across Abbey Road. The $40 million exhibit, which opened in a 49,000-square-foot exhibit space in Times Square on April 6, will be on display until December 30. Continue reading »

Pastry Chef Iven Kawi Creates Amazing Terrarium And Flower Cakes
Jakarta-based pastry chef Iven Kawi says she made her first honest attempt at baking in December of 2013 when she made a batch of Christmas cookies for her daughter’s school. As you can see, things have progressed quite a bit. Kawi now runs a bakery shop out of her home in Lippo Karawaci called Iven Oven where she creates elaborately decorated baked goods. Among her specialties are cakes adorned with terrarium environments where buttercream frosting is sculpted into an abundance of cacti and flower petals atop beds of crumbly sand or dirt. Real Madrid soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo unveiled an airport named Aeroporto Cristiano Ronaldo in Madeira, Portugal. In addition to getting an airport named after himself, the footballer was honored with a bronze bust in his likeness.
