Interiors are completely painted in rich flower patterns and that is kind of a standard in rural regions across Eastern and Central European countries, mostly Slavic ones.
“Ethnographers are sure that the tradition followed a much older custom of applying simple symbols that were no longer covered so quickly with the soot from the furnace – therefore the women could let their imagination and their artistic needs flow,” writes lamusdworski.
