Anatomy of a Ruin: The Superb Dark and Creepy Art Works of Sam Wolfe Connelly
A long-haired girl in a white dress floating in the middle of the room, a dead man in a pond, a creepy dog in golf shoes – images that seem to have emerged from some vague dream are so deeply rooted in the culture that today almost no horror story can do without them.
In order not to get bored with all this creepiness, the authors have to invent something new every time. In this regard, American artist Sam Wolfe Connelly is, without exaggeration, a true master of horror. Connelly uses a black-and-white palette and plays so well with shadows that even the most trivial monsters look somehow particularly frightening.
