Stunning Mist‑filled Forests And Broken Trees Painted In Old‑master Style by Martin Voigt

Martin Voigt is a Leipzig‑based German painter and draughtsman whose work focuses on quietly haunting landscapes and still lifes rendered in an old‑master, atmospheric style that explores refuge, silence and the passage of time.
A trained stonemason and sculptor who later studied painting/graphics at HGB Leipzig, he creates mist‑filled forests, broken trees, skull‑infused still lifes like “Turm,” and intimate interiors that function as mythical “Hyperborea” refuges—places where nature, death and memory subtly intertwine. His exhibitions include major solo shows such as “Hyperborea” (Panorama Museum Bad Frankenhausen) and “Refugien” (Kunsthalle Worpswede).
