Meet The Artist Who Turns The World’s Most Misunderstood Animals Into Breathtakingly Cool Masterpieces

Halsey Berryman is an American illustrator and lettering artist based in Washington, D.C., whose work draws heavily from traditional sign painting, folk art, and printmaking. Growing up across distinct cultural landscapes like Massachusetts and Taos, New Mexico, she developed an appreciation for gritty, tactile aesthetics and hand-crafted visual storytelling.

Her art frequently highlights the underdogs of the animal world, nature, and social themes, pairing bold graphic shapes with playful, witty typography. Inspired by traditional sign painters and tattoo culture, she infuses her illustrations with a charmingly rebellious, human-made warmth that stands out in a heavily digital creative landscape.
