Breathtaking Graphite And Pastel Drawings By UK Fine Artist Ian Hodgson

Ian Hodgson is a UK-based fine artist who works predominantly with graphite and pastel pencils to create ethereal figurative and abstract drawings.

Hodgson’s drawing practice delves into the concepts of identity, place, emotional architecture, and the psychology of landscapes. Using dry media like graphite and pastel, his technique often involves reworking familiar subjects to shed fresh light on their meaning and form. Operating from his purpose-built garden studio, dubbed “The Hodgehutch,” he continues to push the boundaries of contemporary drawing by blending delicate realism with abstract elements.
