Italian pencil artist Marco Mazzoni‘s work goes far beyond technical perfection. His representation of historical healing women is enigmatic and sublime. Often leaving the eyes blank or covered with an abundance of birds, butterflies and flowers, he gives the impression of a deeper inward focused sight, as well as obscuring the identity of the individual.

In this photo taken Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 and provided by Breitling, Yves Rossy, known as the Jetman, jumps from a helicopter near Mount Fuji in Japan. The Swiss aviator jumped from a helicopter at an altitude of 3,600 meters (11,811 feet) and successfully flew the jet-powered carbon-Kevlar Jetwing around the 3,776-meter (12,388-foot)-tall mountain, Japan’s highest peak, which was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in June. London Designers Create Unique Car-Powered Aquaponics Urban Farm that Grows Vegetables
A world first eco+arts+design project, stemming from a sustainability partnership between Hyundai, designers Something & Son and London’s Design Museum.
This week Hyundai unveiled a unique piece of design theatre to educate people about the real-life benefits of hydrogen fuel cell technology. Deputy Mayor of London, Kit Malthouse, showed his support for the project by opening the Hyundai Fuel Cell Farm – the world’s first aquaponics ecosystem powered by Hyundai Motor’s zero-emission ix35 Fuel Cell. The Fuel Cell Farm was positioned outside the front of the Design Museum in London. Continue reading »

Dust Car Art by Rafael Veyisov
During work hours on one of the busiest streets of Baku, Azerbaijan’s capital, parking attendant Rafael Veyisov wipes off the dust on cars with his fingers, slowly contouring the shapes of tall buildings and flying birds. In his artwork, he generally illustrates real towns to educate people about other countries, but sometimes he also lets his imagination run wild and produces impressive original works. Surprised by his talent, the car owners who regularly leave their vehicles in Rafael’s care, often leave them dirty just to give him an excuse to play around, and take photos of his beautiful artworks. Submarine Comes out of Nowhere in Milan, Italy
The people of Milan awoke to find something a little strange yesterday morning.
Just off of Via dei Mercanti, near the heart of the old city, a submarine had apparently pushed its way through the paving stones and damaged a nearby car. The road’s shattered surface lay piled up around, with baffled firefighters looking on. Meanwhile, sailors clambered down from the lost submarine’s tower to meet emergency crews at the scene.
In case you haven’t guessed already, it was, of course, an ambitious publicity stunt. Workers for Europ Assistance IT, an insurance group based in Italy, had come to the street early in the morning to construct the fake submarine.
The installation was erected to promote the firm’s ‘Protect Your Life‘ campaign. Continue reading »
Splashes of Colors on Streets of Madrid
After spotting a photo on instagram of Spanish street artist Rosh‘s multi-colored sprayed corners, Guillermo de la Madrid took to the streets of Madrid to find more, and more he did find. These pastel-y splashes of colors adorn the street corners of the city, as well as other urban objects such as electrical switch boxes, pipes, and street signs. Surprising and subtle enough to almost be confused as unintentional, these colorful splotches especially appeal to those in the know. Continue reading »

This series cannot get any cuter! Entitled Life is Adventure, the images portray little kittens and puppies playfully placed within elaborate scenes. To create each setting, the creative team first sketched out ideas and then used everyday household items like books, pillows, and a broom, to bring the imaginative moments to life. In the compositions, kittens ride camels, puppies sail off to sea, upside-down hangars look like seagulls, and a ring of yellow rubber gloves form a sun shining overhead. Continue reading »

The First In-Car Hostel in Moscow
Skoda Fabia, a car advertised for the most spacious cabin in its category, was transformed into a real hostel: with a comfortable double-bed, pillows, free wi-fi, and everything needed for a comfortable stay. Yes, it had a bathroom next to the car just in case. The hostel was placed at «Izmaiolovo Park» , one of the most pleasant parks in the city to provide a great view for the guests.
The project was created by the advertising agency Proximity Russia (BBDO Russia Group), in a partnership with the acommodation website Tripping.com: every time someone was searching for a place to stay in Moscow, surprisingly, the Skoda Hostel appeared in the results, and users could book it online and spend one night there. The only payment accepted were likes, tweets and shares.
Guests could also take the car for a ride around the city, so each booking became a full scale test drive. The hostel was fully booked, and had great feedback from its guests. Continue reading »
