Fans and critics have long discussed and debated the unrealistic bodies of comic book superheroes, from gravity-defying breasts and tiny waists to bulging biceps and washboard abs. However, now Bulimia.com has done what it refers to as “reverse Photoshopping of comic covers,” and given the superheroes bodies that reflect average American body types.

Stupefying Hand-Knitted Hammock Is Suspended
Andy Lewis, an avid slackliner who once performed in a Super Bowl Halftime Show, envisioned the ‘Mothership Space Net Penthouse’. A spider-web-like hammock, this intricate art-piece took 50 people three days to complete. Hand-knitted from 14,000 feet of colorful cordage, the suspended net is the result of a joined effort between people who share a love for big doses of adrenaline.

The Plastic Mosaic You Can See From Space: Spain’s Greenhouse Complex
The world’s largest plastic greenhouse complex–known as Mar de Plástico–covers more than 185 square miles near Almeria in Spain’s southeast. Photographer Bernhard Lang shot these sprawling scenes as part of his “Aerial Views” project.
Mar de Plástico has been an area of intensive crop production since the 1960s. Exports of fruits and vegetables in 2012 amounted to 1.9 billion euros with 359 companies exporting from the complex. Almost 30 percent of Mar de Plastico’s production is exported to Germany, followed by France; the rest is sold in Spain itself.

Working only with layers of painted galvanized wire atop steel armature, UK artist Kendra Haste creates faithful reproductions of creatures large and small for both public installations and private collections around the world. A graduate of the from the Royal College of Art, Haste says she is fascinated by how such a seemingly ordinary medium, chicken wire, is capable of suggesting “the sense of movement and life, of contour and volume, the contrasts of weight and lightness, of solidity and transparency—values that I find in my natural subjects.

Colorful Star Trails
These are the spectacular snaps of swirling star trails which transform the night sky into a kaleidoscope of color. Keen photographer Evgeniy Zaytsev, 24, captured the stunning shots on trips to Crimea, Altai and Murom, Russia. The pictures of circular star trails are formed by merging multiple photos taken over the course of several hours. Movement of the Earth causes the stars appear in different places in each image. An artist has given classic paintings new hope – by adding Star Wars elements into the famous works. David Hamilton, 50, put his unique twist on paintings by the likes of Monet, Munch, Rembrandt and Van Gogh. The creative artist, from Livingston, Scotland, came up with the idea while flicking through a book of classic paintings. Haunting Photos Of A Deserted Mall That Is Now Covered In Snow
Photographic displays of “haunting decay” have become so banalized as to sometimes evoke more eye-rolls than chills. But photographer Seph Lawless has, through his politically charged depictions of American vacancies, restored novelty to imagery of the old and dilapidated: images from his 2014 book, Black Friday, were widely circulated last year. The title, based on a tradition that unfortunately hasn’t lost its relevance in American culture, was juxtaposed with photos of abonded structures central to this “holiday”: malls.

Scavengers of the Burning Wasteland
“In a 200-acre-plus dump 5 kilometers north of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, hundreds of men, women and children scavenge day and night through the burning wasteland. They earn $12 to $15 a day – on a good day – for recycling plastics as well as clothing, household items and aluminum (for smelting). Some 5,000 tons of waste is created each day in the Port-au-Prince area.
