At the 58th Turin Motor Show, held in April 1980, Bertone introduced a new concept car based on a Lamborghini chassis – a slightly unusual choice, given that Lamborghini was in dire financial straits at the time. The press release from the Turin coachbuilder made it clear that Bertone wanted to support the company. ‘Eye-catching 1980’s opulence’ is perhaps the best way to describe this particular Countach, one that stands out from even the most outlandish of Countaches thanks to its incredible specification. Finished new in white over a white leather interior, the car was further outfitted with much of its interior trim gold-plated, including the steering column, gated gear shifter and gate, instrument cluster, trunk and engine handles, door sills, and even the exterior badging, as well as exhaust pipe tips. His name is Alexander Stupkin, a young Ukrainian jeweler from Odessa. Apparently he has always been a fan of beautiful sports cars, and since he was already working in a field that requires patience and accuracy, he decided to try his luck with tunning.
