An Abrupt End
A small project by the English James Huse entitled “An Abrupt End” shooting an explosion of balloons filled with milk. “The photo you see here is of a bursting rubber balloon filled with milk. It was only captured through the use of skills, equipment, facilities, training and tutorials made available through our university. It’s both a celebration of all we have learned here and a visual representation of what can only be made possible through the use of university funding in all its available forms. The secondary images were allowed none of the privileges offered by our university, and it shows. The recent budgets cuts to creative education industries can only jeopardise the future of such creative endeavours and rather than this balloon, it may be future students creative educations coming to an abrupt end.”

Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition in Montréal
We jetted off to Montréal to visit the magnificent exhibition “La Planète Mode de Jean Paul Gaultier, de la Rue aux Étoiles” which is being held in the city’s Beaux-Arts Museum until 2nd October.
Celebrating 35 years of French couturier design, the Gaultier house and MBAM have worked hand in hand to produce a formidable treasure trove: no less than 140 outfits with emblematic accessories from the ready-to-wear and haute-couture ranges, complimented by innumerable videos, sketches and photographs by creative geniuses such as Warhol and Pierre and Gilles…

Remember back in the day when we had an ugly square box with an image inside, and on the right side would be a checkout box? This used to be the generalized appearance of an online e-commerce store. Ever since we have moved completely into a brand new “pretty” digital era, where you can buy physically anything online and not hurt your eyes while doing so! At this point and time it would be much more ideal to purchase an desired item online rather than the store. Much thanks to Amazon, I have found thing to be even cheaper than what I would pay at a walk-in Target or Walmart.
While the design of an e-commerce website went from ugly to beautiful, e-commerce based web design is still plays as a huge challenge for web designers. In order to succeed you have to be unique, engaging, creative, and worry about the user experience. We all know that the top priority for any e-commerce website is to sell their products. However, overlooking design and rushing to that step is unintelligent. When I shop at a store, I want to enjoy the experience. Having an attractive e-commerce design makes me appreciate what the company offers, and creates a chance of me becoming a regular customer.
Many corporate websites have so many different things going on once you visit their home page. Sooner that you know it, you have been bombarded with information overload. Sales, discounts, promotions, buy one get one free, and much more unnecessary spam. This collection is purely about aesthetics. Personally speaking I would enjoy shopping at any of the stores mentioned below. Thanks to their attention to detail, they should stand as an example for any designer in need of inspiration.
