Created from Light: Stunning Paintings by Zarina Situmorang
Self-taught artist Zarina Situmorang creates beautifully poetic oil on canvas paintings inspired by classic literature, psychology and light.
“I am inspired by emotions and feelings. What’s happening inside and outside of people’s minds. Hope, faith, support, self-doubt – all of these themes interest me. And light! The changes of values, temperatures. Blending helps me to show the seamlessness of light transitions. If I were a bug, I would probably be one of those that’s endlessly beating against light bulbs.
I’m in love with both the traditional approaches to painting and contemporary art trends,” she writes.
