Colombian Artist Creates Illustrations Inspired by Medieval Drawings and Scientific Atlases
According to Carolina Zambrano: “I am an illustrator, graphic designer and artist. The topics that I address, for the most part, are related to the symbolic world, magic, alchemy and nature. My creative processes are associated with the discovery of personal and collective symbols.
For this, I apply methods that reveal the voice of the unconscious, such as active imagination – a term used in Jungian analytical psychology – as well as dreams and visions. I try to ensure that all my illustration works go through these creation processes so that the result is a translation of the author’s feelings and wishes.
I work independently. My works focus on the areas of youth and children’s editorial illustration, advertising illustration, print design and design applied to objects.”
