Niceaunties: An AI Art Project About Joyful Aging, Beauty, Freedom And Fun

Singaporean AI artist Niceaunties has created the “Auntieverse,” a surreal world celebrating “auntie culture” across Southeast and East Asia.

Inspired by the older women in her family, Niceaunties’ art challenges stereotypes of aunties, depicting them in fantastical settings like dancing on beaches or driving tofu-powered cars. Through humor, wordplay, and visual storytelling, the Auntieverse explores themes of aging, freedom, and environmental concerns. By using AI to generate her artwork, Niceaunties reframes perceptions of older women, creating an empowering and whimsical fantasy world.
