Take cheese, for instance: if it develops a natural, edible mold, aficionados opt for the refined term “bloom.” A pungent aroma? That’s not a bad smell—it’s simply “robust.” The word “creamy” makes perfect sense in the context of cheese, describing texture and mouthfeel, yet somehow, keyboard enthusiasts have co-opted it to describe switches in a way that is far less literal and, arguably, far less flavorful.
