“Les Acanthes”: The Epic Fantasy Landscape Paintings of Julien Delval
French artist Julien Delval conjures fantastical worlds with a classical touch, channeling the grandeur and precision of European masters.
His paintings, crafted with traditional techniques like acrylic on wood and gouache on paper, possess a richness and texture that digital methods rarely achieve. Delval’s mastery lies in both his technical finesse and imaginative scope, resulting in works that feel timeless yet otherworldly. Alongside his fine art, he’s built a notable career illustrating book covers and board games, especially for Days of Wonder. Now focusing more on personal projects, Delval is preparing to release a major monograph that promises to unveil even more of his breathtaking landscapes.
