Where Celtic Folklore Meets Surrealist Science In Watercolor Artworks of Nenad Pantic

Nenad Pantic is a Serbian-born, Ireland-based artist and software engineer celebrated for his hand-crafted fantasy and surrealist illustrations that merge Celtic mythology, European folklore, and philosophical introspection.

He works primarily with traditional media—watercolors, inks, pens, oils—and also ventures into digital painting, drawing inspiration from masters such as Brian Froud, Alan Lee, H.R. Giger, and Studio Ghibli. Pantic’s art is deeply rooted in mythic traditions, most notably influenced by the book “Faeries” and Tolkien’s Middle Earth, and often features intricate scenes where human, vegetal, and monstrous forms intertwine in primal rhythmic compositions. Alongside solo and group exhibitions in Croatia, Hungary, Serbia, and Ireland, he illustrates books and regularly showcases his work online, sharing both dark introspective pieces and playful, imaginative worlds that echo his mathematical and philosophical ponderings. Now living in Kilcoole, Ireland, he is active in Visual Artists Ireland, maintains a lively social presence, and continues to blend everyday experience with magical narrative in his creations.
