Olga Furman is a Russian‑born, New Jersey–based mixed‑media contemporary artist best known for expressive portraits and figurative works with elements of surrealism. She grew up in St. Petersburg and the Russian Far North, later emigrated to Israel and then to the United States, and now runs a home studio where she paints and teaches.

Faces and figures are central: she describes them as a way to “create another world” and to express emotion through subtle expressions, often combining realism with whimsical or symbolic elements. Her portraits use layered mixed media—acrylics, oils, watercolor, inks, charcoal, collage—building rich textures and semi‑hidden layers to add mystery and depth. Many recent works, such as “Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost,” explore inner journeys, resilience and emotional healing through color, gesture and gaze.
