Breathtaking Cinematic Illustrations That Will Make You Rethink Sci-Fi Concept Art

Katerina Belikova is a Ukrainian digital illustrator and concept artist born in Donetsk. She is highly respected in the concept art community, operating under the motto “Painting your fantastic ideas”.

Belikova is a professional cover artist specializing in science fiction, cyberpunk, and dark fantasy. She gained significant international recognition for her work with the Star Wars franchise, illustrating the official cover art for Cavan Scott’s audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Runner (and its script book), as well as the 2024 audio drama The High Republic: Tempest Breaker.

Her illustrations frequently explore futuristic sci-fi environments, melancholic robotic characters, and striking portrait studies defined by intense lighting and deep, rich colors. She often shares her creative process on Instagram Reels, showing how she transforms “light drafts into something darker” through digital painting. While she is celebrated for her polished commercial work, she also creates deeply emotive personal pieces—such as illustrations dealing with depression and isolation.
