An Artist Treats Video Games Like a Place Where Character Photography Can Become Its Own Art Form

Jay is a gaming-focused virtual photographer and fan creator whose work is closely tied to Tomb Raider, Lara Croft, and character-driven game imagery. He describes himself as “Lara Croft’s photographer,” runs an official Tomb Raider fan page, and presents game photography as a central creative practice rather than a side hobby.

His images are built around digital staging, mood, and character presence inside existing game worlds. Lara Croft remains the main visual center, but the work also extends into other gaming spaces, brand collaborations, and occasional Blender-based experiments, which gives it the feel of a fan practice growing toward a more polished and recognizable visual identity. The result is closer to character portraiture and virtual image-making than to ordinary gameplay capture.
