Chinese Man Builds 7-Story Home For Dead Brothers
A peculiar tower-like building in Shandong has captured the attention of Chinese netizens, according to Daily Mail, after images of the structure appeared on the popular microblogging site Weibo. The building was constructed by Chinese farmer Hu Guangzhou, 55, to house his brothers, whom – if reports are to be believed – passed away a decade ago. This house in Toronto, Canada was built 72 years ago. Recently, the owner — an ordinary 96-year-old woman, a seamstress and knitter by trade — decided to sell it. But when real estate agents came to see the house, they gasped in astonishment. Judging by the interior design, they were back in the 1950s. When Luciano Pia undertook to design a five-storey, 63-unit residential apartment building in Turin, Italy, he sought to break from the homogenous urban development that was consuming the area. What resulted was 25 Verde, an extraordinary urban treehouse that blurs the lines been the domestic and the wild, captures a certain childlike imagination with branches rendered in steel, and whose exterior is melded with 150 trees, as well as a vast array of additional plants to which protect residents against noise pollution, and reduce air pollution in the neighborhood.
