15,000 Origami Birds Were Folded To Make This Large Mural In Paris
“Lunar Cycles” is a 49 foot (15m) high and 459 foot (140m) long mural covering the side of a building in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. The installation is composed of both tangible origami birds, as well as painted ones to create depth and an element of permanence despite its temporary nature. Shapereader is a tactile language, specifically designed to allow the creation of universally accessible narrative works of tactile literature for, and from a visually impaired readership. The Shapereader consists of an ever expanding repertoire of anaglyph shapes called tactigrams designed to provide haptic equivalents for objects, actions, affections, characters and so on. 100 Cameras Were Given To The Homeless And This Is What They Photographed
100 disposable Fujifilm cameras will be given out to people who are living on the street, in a local shelter or are otherwise affected by homelessness. Unlike any project before, the homeless of Spartanburg, SC will have an integral hand in helping expose the issue of homelessness rather than merely being the problem that is trying to be solved.
Through Our Eyes is bigger than a social experiment. It’s greater than an art piece. It’s more important than an outreach. This project is a lifeline. The photographers will be equipped with the tools to tell their story. They will be encouraged through a word of hope. The community will be engaged to support those who work with the homeless.
